Apple Introduces Boot Camp

When the Intel based Mac’s were born, it only seemed natural that the evolution would continue, so that a Mac would be able to boot Windows/XP as well.

Apple brings you - Boot Camp - now in beta stage this software will allow an Intel based Mac to run either Mac or Windows operating systems.

This is actually very exciting to me. I have been debating on what laptop to buy next. Next being a rather long time off but what would I buy next, a Windows or Mac laptop. I prefer to develop on the Mac but speeds and price affected my choices and I could easily do the same sort of work on a comparably equipped but less expensive Windows laptop if I really wanted too. Now a laptop that would support both a Windows and Mac environment would be like having your cake and eating it with a side of ice cream.

I am going to avoid all the “here comes the redmond monster” bashing or what implications this has on the life of Mac users. Let us not forget about the *Switch* commercials, but perhaps the retitled commercials will be *Merge*.

According to the PR article the next generation of the Mac OS will include the dual boot software in a final release form.
