Piracy bad, deleting your files… badder?

Here is a news bite that caught my attention today.

In effort to control how their software is used the author of the software decided that randomly deleting a file from the users computer would be the best defense. When someone who has the installed software figures out what is going on he begins to spread the word around the shareware community on Versiontracker.
