Flickr, Lightroom and beyond

What is up with Flickr recently or have I just not been on in what seems like way too long a period of time?

What I am referring to is the various new features meant to make my life better, but just seem more bothersome. I like Flickr the way it was, is, you know the simple interface and basic search and find functions. Maybe I am making too much out of such little things *shrugs*.

I need to start posting more photos, I have already fallen way behind on my 365 days contributions and need to get back behind the lens. So many ideas, so little time.

In order to help me achieve my goals of getting more time behind the camera and sharing photos, I have started using Adobe’s Lightroom. For reasons unknown to me, this product is referred to as Photoshop Lightroom on the Adobe web site? I guess that is one of the basic attractions and functions of the Lightroom product is the ability to do many basic Photoshop like functions in a non-destructive manner within Lightroom. Only been using it for a day or two so I can report on much yet but so far I like it.

I previously used iView Media Pro on the Mac and ACDSee on the PC. This app will work on both platforms so now I can share library’s across the platforms, thats a nice plus. More on Lightroom in a few days after I break it on on my 5000+ photos I have accumulated in the last 2 years.
